Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an airbrush tan last?
Typically, my tans last between 7-9 days when cared for properly.

How can I make my tan last as long as possible?
Make sure to moisturize every single day. If you notice your skin still feels dry I recommend moisturizing both in the morning (after your shower) and at night before you go to bed. This will ensure you don't get that "crackling" effect from your tan. Yuck!

Can I go swimming and take showers with my tan?
Absolutely! If you're going to be in salt or chlorine water, be sure to take an extra-moisturizing lotion with you and apply as soon as you get out of the water. It's recommended not to stay in the water for an extended period of time without moisturizing, but as long as you are diligent about not letting your skin dry out you can have all the water fun you want. You should always moisturize after showering.

What kind of solution do you use?
I use only the highest quality tanning solutions on the market. For most people, I recommend a DHA level of 11.5% or higher simply because it's easily customizable to how light or how dark you may want to be, plus it works great on both pale and naturally darker skin tones. The higher the DHA level the better your tan will look and the longer it will last.

What should I wear for my appointment?
For women: You can choose to wear a bikini, under garments, or your birthday suit- whatever makes you feel most comfortable.*
For men: You can choose to wear a swim suit or under garments- whatever you feel most comfortable in.
*I am a professional and take what I do very seriously. Because most people do not want tan lines when getting an airbrush tan, they may choose to be tanned in the nude. However, this experience is all about making you feel beautiful and comfortable. You will never be asked to wear anything you're not comfortable wearing, and you can trust that I have full confidentiality with all of my clients.

What should I do before my appointment?
  1. Take a shower 1-2 hours prior to your appointment to ensure the natural oils of your skin are not present when I airbrush you.
  2. In the shower, be sure to scrub your entire body to get rid of any dead skin cells. The best method I've found is simply taking a wet washcloth with nothing on it (no body wash, scrub, etc.) and using medium pressure in circular motions to slough off all dead skin over your entire body.
  3. Once out of the shower, do NOT use any lotions or moisturizers! This is crucial because if you use any kind of moisturizers on the day of your session the DHA will not have the chance to absorb into your skin effectively.
What should I do after my appointment?
After your tanning session, you should wait at least 8-10 full hours before taking a shower, going swimming, or using lotions and moisturizers. This will allow your tan to develop into the full, rich color you desire! If you have plans to go out before that 8-10 hours is up, feel free! The solution I use has no smell to it so you won't feel like you smell like "tanning" and as long as you aren't planning on wearing white, you shouldn't notice any color on your clothing after about 2 hours.
